Our Story

Wellington is a privately run, independent school located on beautiful Whidbey Island. We provide Preschool through 8th grade instruction to students using a modified Montessori system. 

The Wellington School experience begins in our traditional Montessori Preschool/Kindergarten program and extends the Montessori philosophy into our upper grade tutorial education.

Our school was founded as the Wellington Day School in 1993 by Elizabeth Itaya.
